Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
The Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a public service organization is pleased to announce the availability of their single parent award in the amount of $500 for the 2010 academic year. The sorority seeks to provide financial assistance to a deserving African American single parent from York, Gloucester, Mathews, and Williamsburg-James City counties.
Eligibility: Applicant must be a single African American parent, male or female from York, Gloucester, Mathews, and Williamsburg-James City counties:
Award
a. Be at least 21 years of age
b. Have a “C” average or above GPA
c. Have custody of child/children or proof of 50 percent or more support
How to Apply: The following items must be submitted:
1. Completed Application
2. Official high school or college transcript
3. One page narrative describing your career goals
4. Two letters of recommendation - One must be submitted from a teacher or a counselor and the second from any person in your community.
Deadline: All interested students are asked to apply as soon as possible. The deadline for receipt of completed application packet is 20 March 2010.

Award recipient will be recognized at an activity hosted by the Sorority.
